Noun Clauses
They are clauses that perform the same function that nouns do.
This means that a noun clause can be :
1- A subject of a verb
What you said surprised me.
What Mary did was not the right thing.
Why you are late is not an excuse.
Where we live is a good place.
2- An object of a verb
Jack did what I told him.
I don't like where they work.
M. Miller does not remember when she left.
I don't understand what you mean.
3- An object of a preposition
I am not responsible for what you have done.
I think she is interested in what you are doing.
4- A subject complement
His fault was that he did not do it himself.
The problem is that they can not adimt the truth.
